Location: Birmingham

Project Manager
HS2 is an unparalleled feat of modern engineering and the largest infrastructure project in Europe. For seasoned project managers with experience in property/property development, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The chance to invigorate the nation’s long-term capacity, connectivity and economy – on a scale not seen in the UK since the Second World War.

High profile remit
Working on both Phases 1 and 2 zones, you will ensure that the HS2 route is protected from conflicting development. You’ll also use your understanding of our statutory compensation policy and compulsory purchase in general to ensure that our property compensation and assistance schemes are designed and launched to a high standard.

Working collaboratively
Liaising closely with colleagues from the Department for Transport as well as colleagues across the business in the Bill team, legal, engineering and town planning, you will implement and revise Safeguarding Directions across Phases 1 and 2. What’s more, you’ll roll out the zoned compensation and assistance schemes - statutory blight, Express Purchase, Rural Support Zone (Voluntary Purchase and Cash Offer) and Homeowner Payment.

Creative problem solving
Alongside a proven track record of leading and delivering projects through cross-functional teams, you will bring the ability to develop external communications plans and a creative approach to resolving complex problems. You’ll be able to draw on your understanding of town planning and parliamentary process relating to statutory blight and compulsory purchase.

This is your opportunity to join a great venture.
