Transport For London: Job Opportunity
Operational Property Manager
£70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
Victoria, London
About Us:
Transport is the cornerstone of every successful city. London is no exception. The Mayor has set out his strategy to establish a city for all Londoners and at TfL, it’s our job to help deliver it. As part of the Estates Management Directorate our Operational Property Division provides a full, high quality property consultancy service to clients within both the TfL Group and the wider GLA family.

About the role:
We are looking to recruit an experienced Property Surveyor to lead our London Underground team. Reporting to the Head of Operational Property you will call upon a wide range of experience to manage varied workstreams including compulsory purchase, negotiation with developers on agreements to provide infrastructure, lease negotiations and general property management. Many of the major programmes in TfL’s business plan are delivered under compulsory purchase powers and you will act as a senior leader in this field.

A role so challenging and rewarding demands a wide range of skills:
You will need an excellent knowledge of the range of property activities required in supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects, including compulsory purchase and compensation law, town planning, acquisition and landlord and tenant. You will have experience of managing staff at different levels and handling multiple, complex workstreams, and an excellent communicator with an ability to deal firmly but sensitively with difficult situations.

The rewards are as impressive as your achievements:
In return for your expertise, along with the knowledge that you’ll be playing a vital role, we can offer an excellent benefits package including final salary pension scheme and a generous holiday entitlement of 30 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays. You can make significant savings on travel thanks to a free Oyster Card travel pass; 75% discount on national rail season ticket and interest free loan; and discounted travel on the Eurostar. You can also choose to take advantage of a discounted private healthcare scheme and a host of retail, health, leisure and travel offers.
