Tony Johnson Memorial Lecture:
Looking further than tomorrow. What does the future hold for Compulsory Purchase?
We are living in a very different world to yesterday due to the rapidly increasing pace of technology.
As technology advances, people will live, travel and work very differently and many occupations will become obsolete.
A recent RICS article has suggested that 88% of surveyors’ core tasks are vulnerable to Artificial Intelligence (AI) in as little as the next decade. The same will likely apply to other professions.
How is the CPA going to prepare for (or embrace…) the impacts of new technology in the next decade and beyond, not just for the impacts it will have on the industry’s professionals, but the industry as a whole and the requirements for it in the future?
Tony was instrumental in the creation of the CPA, a surveyor passionate about compulsory purchase and education. This lecture is in his memory.
