An Extraordinary General Meeting of the Compulsory Purchase Association will take place on Monday 25th February 2019 at 3.15pm for the purpose of approving amendments to the Association’s Articles.

The board is seeking support from the membership to:

  • To remove reference to gender in Chairman and Vice Chairman
  • To remove the limitation on the ability for Honorary Members and Corporate Members to be Directors.
  • To remove the limitation on the ability for Honorary Members and Corporate Members to be Vice Chair or Chair (article 12.1).
  • The elected Vice Chair becomes chair elect upon taking post at the AGM following an election and becomes Chair at the following AGM.
  • The removal of the limitation on the number of persons a public sector organisation can nominate as Corporate Members.
  • Restricting the number of Directors from a single organisation.

EGM Rules and How to vote

  • The EGM is for paid up (as of 4pm on Friday 22 Feb) members only. The CPD event is an open event.
  • Only the above Article amendments will be discussed.
  • Each resolution will be voted upon.
  • Members will be invited by a show of hands to adopt the above motions.
  • Members not wishing to attend, but who wish to have a proxy vote can do so by downloading this form here, completing and returning it by fax or scanned email. Members are asked to return the proxy form by Friday 22 February 4pm, although the deadline, under the Articles, is 3.15pm on Saturday 23rd Feb.
  • Articles can only be amended by a count at an AGM or EGM
  • A resolution will be accepted if 75% or more of those voting are in favour.
